Upton was a deep red South Carolina classic belle. She was heavily promoted by Republican social media boosters.

It's crazy that this is the woman Vance decided to pick on

Regardless of political beliefs, one thing I do know is that social media and online bullying needs to stop

Sounds to me like she still is, when she can't even find the words to properly condemn the side that does the majority of this type of bullying. I know she's not the brightest bulb in the room, but even she should at some point notice how she's just being used and that no one on her side is actually respecting her - or rather purposefully disrespects her. Not that she's the only woman, or black person, or gay person, or trans person, etc. etc. I just don't understand those people. It's like a Stockholm syndrome kinda thing.

lol holy fuck he is such a shitheel.

Also, I am never going to pass up a chance to remind everyone that he’s going to put some of his “love” into your loveseat. Remember to use cold water - the stain comes out easier that way.

Dude has exactly one expression that I can only describe as "hoping no one notices how bad that test fart was"

One of my favorites is, JD Vance without a beard looks like he's about to steal Pee Wees bike.

CNN’s John Berman followed up, asking, “I just want to be clear, though. You said you didn’t know. Would you like to apologize to Caitlin Upton for posting that up there last night, given what you’ve now learned?”

“John, I’m not going to apologize for posting a joke, but I wish the best for Caitlin,” he concluded.

Disgusting as he is, I will concede it’s probably politically smart to downplay his cruelty rather than apologize and admit that it’s cruel. What a prick.

Just more right wing style DARVO - yeah, SHE is the basically the butt of a decades-long joke, but "it's just a joke, you GUYZZZZ, c'mon!"

This is the same way the right wing puts forward things pushing further and further rightward - if there is any meaningful pushback, it's just a joke, nudge nudge wink wink, if there isn't any pushback, they take a few more steps. These people are simply not to be believed when they talk about humor - they are terrible at it.

Also - at the time this happened, I do admit it made me crack a smile, however, I don't really get why they expect these beauty queens to also be policy wonks? She was (is?) super cute [1] and it's essentially about that and T&A for these things. Why put the veneer on it? I just never understand that. [1] Although it's disappointing that she's maga, it's also not all that surprising, though.

It's easy to do both. "I meant it as a joke, not to cause harm. So I stand by my intentions, but I apologize to Ms. Upton."

Still, an assholish thing to say, but I would have respected the prick more had he said it. Is it really that bad?

How childish can you be to avoid apologizing for something so.... easy to apologize for?

The eyeliner is weird.

She's a maga? How disappointing. It's hard to feel sorry for anyone that votes for this kind of shit.

South Carolina.

It doesn't surprise me.

Vance probably just wanted to remind voters of Trump's ties to child beauty pageants.

It still blows my mind and saddens me that there are people that would vote for him. He's not going to do a single thing to help them, he's literally everything they complain about and say that the democrats are. I asked my coworker to tell me one thing he's done to help him and one thing he said that wasn't a lie. I was told his taxes were lowered. I said really? You're taxes on your 60k position were lower huh? He fucking raised your taxes man... The response, no Biden did.

I blame the media. Fox "news" should be labeled a terrorist organization.

Wow, "JD" "Vance" sure is one weird couch-fucker.

I just want to point out how lame it is to use a meme from 2017. Probably the only thing in his phone that wasn't from 4chan.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Mate it's a meme from 17 years ago, not 2017. It's from 2007.

It's the

... like such as the Iraq...

Clip right?

Anybody else feel like it's pretty sexist to liken the anticipated performance of the vice president of the USA to a teen beauty pageant contestant?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I mean, is there anything that Vance does that isn't massively sexist?
