I can’t seem to stop saving (hoarding?) little containers that I think would be fun to grow mushrooms in.

Are they edible or just for fun visually?

They’re edible, then comes the visual fun lol. They’re P. Cubensis 8)

Ah yes, didn't realize what community I'd stumbled into. I know hobbyists grow general mushrooms for fun as well and just assumed that's what was happening. Out of curiosity, how many trips could you take from a container like that?

Probably 2-4 from what is visible. Most dosages are in dry weight and its like 90% water, so this is a rough guess assuming 1/8 to 1/4 oz dosages. They can probably harvest from it a few times though (a flush). Usually get 4 or so flushes from a bin if there is enough food in the growing medium. So let's call it about 8-16 tripping dosages assuming it doesn't get contaminated between flushes.

Again, super rough guess without knowing the dry weight.

Fascinating. I have long term hopes for psychedelics for help with anxiety and depression, but don't think I'd ever indulge recreationally.

My partner microdoses. Typically grinds them in an espresso grinder and loads them into tea bags. They dose with one of those bags, a regular tea bag, and some lemon juice.

The spores are legal to sell and can be bought online. 6x 16qt bins made from 4x spore syringes bought online will last 1-2 years.

Well sloppy pretty much hit the nail on the head. I’ll chime in to say those were 55 grams when harvested today (wet weight), so about 5.5 dry. That’s about 2 trips for me, or 1 big’un and a smaller chill dose. I mostly microdose though, these will most likely be heading for the mortar & pestle then into capsules!
