I’m usually a lurker but this anime was so good?? It was really funny and the romantic tension could have killed me. I’m usually not a fan of slow build anime’s but this one was really worth it. If anyone hasn’t seen the show I highly recommend! I haven’t seen the movie yet because I’m waiting for my partner to finish the series too. My favorite character is probably Chika. I cannot express how much I adore her. Thoughts on the series?? Is the movie any good??

One of those shows that just got better and better for me as it went on. The movie (The First Kiss That Never Ends) feels like great payoff for all the development between Kaguya and Shirogane.

On Crunchyroll the movie is available split into 4 episodes, as it was aired on Japanese TV I think, and listed as another "season". That's maybe why the other commenter thought that you've seen it already if you finished the series.

If you're caught up on episodes, you've seen the movie already (I think). The manga is complete and super worth reading as well!

I was very sad when the manga ended!
I might read it again xP

What's your favorite arc? Mine's gonna be either the Ice Kaguya or the Hayasaka arc

Ishigami is my favorite, so basically any arc around that guy 🥹

I love Love is War. Objectively speaking, it's slow-burn as hell but it does not bog down or tire you because it focuses on other characters rather than centralized to the two main characters. I mean, we have Chika and Miyuki's "mother-son" relationship; Kaguya and Ishigami's "sibling" relationship; Miyuki and Ishigami's "best bro" relationship; and Kaguya and Hayasaka's "sisters" relationship. And it has some gut punches too (S2E11 flashbacks).

For the movie, it's solid and it definitely gives a good payoff for both Kaguya and Miyuki's mind games. I definitely recommend you check it out!

The only show that had made me laughing so hard since Love is War gotta be KonoSuba but that's another type of comedy different from Love is War's brand of comedy. And hey, don't forget to take a look at the dub! Dub's a different beast, especially Ian Sinclair's portrayal of the narrator.

Love is War is the best anime romcom.

Another good one, though with more rom and less com, is Toradora.

Still need to watch the movie, but I thought season 3 was really good. It probably had some of my favorite episodes from that season. The rap episode was probably my favorite. The dub was also super amazing, and I'll probably re-watch season 3 just for that, at some point.

Hate to say it, but I found Kaguya-Sama way overhyped. I mean, it's a solid A- of a show for me, but I've definitely enjoyed other genre shows more and found them way more humorous (like My Dress Up Darling). Not saying it's bad, but I was pretty let down by how nothing much happened and it was not super funny to me for whatever reason.

While the romcom genre is not my favourite by any means, I really enjoyed because it was done so well. Its strongest point for me as the interaction between characters, as it flowed really well. The ending was good, if not expected, but better that than unexpected and disappointing.

The series is phenomenal. I've seen My Dress Up Darling and Kaguya for rom coms, but this one has much better comedic writing. Might also because of the length of the series that has aired, but the character development is great too.

Movie is great and a must watch to tie you over till the next season.

I also recommend Oshi No Ko if you want something from the same author. Different type of show though.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series too. Great humor, great tension and directing.

I think I've watched it twice. (Probably when season 2 came out to start from season 1?)

I've been wanting to watch the movie. But I've been waiting for interest and motivation to rewatch from the start to set the context and mood for it because it's been a while since I watched the series.

I'm always happy to meet another Chika fan! I'm glad you enjoyed the series :D
