Picking a Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate from the same state, and trying to cover it up with a sham address is the kind of thing brain worms make you do.

whats the reasoning that pres and vp can't be from the same state and share electoral votes?

It prevents geographic monopolization of power, so that there isn't one all-powerful state. Written into the original Constitution and modified somewhat by the 12th amendment.
