Will this go on Fdroid too?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Same question here!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Oh wow. Really, really loving this. If I had an easy way to port my magazines/block list I'd switch to artemis.camp immediately just to use this daily. Fantastic work!

As soon as the API is out, all KBin instances will be available.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Are you using some sort of internal API right now?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The API is nearly finished but hasn't been implemented in most instances. Hariette implemented it in the artemis.camp instance to test for use with this app. When it's implement in other instances they will become open to use

Looking forward to test/try the app when the API is ready!

Hi cloaker! What an awesome post.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

People on the app currently are using the artemis.camp kbin instance, presumably just because they want to help test and use the app now. That's what I'll be doing.

I actually sat down and did this manually for myself. It was worth it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I did the exact same thing.

Was already enjoying the private beta but it stopped updating after v0.1.7. The new 0.2.0 public beta is incredible! But is there anyway we could get it on FDroid? Best to avoid the Play Store when at all possible (even with Aurora Store)

As a former RIF user, I adore this app already. Supremely well done! I will be sending coffee to @hariette

Omg. Built in outrun theme right off the bat?
I'm in love

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

It's actually really great, both the theme and the responsiveness of the app. Will be sending monies hariettes way the minute the API is implemented.

Love it already, I really missed apollo when i made the switch to android, and now that kbin and this are a thing I will have a lot less time on my hands, I just made a temp account on artemis.camp while we wait for kbin.social to update, then i will truly be unstoppable

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Lol the Apollo theme is my go-to. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s close! RIP Apollo.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes I love it. Once it rolls out of beta and adds Lemmy support I’ll be throwing $$ at them in w/e way they’ll take it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

If you're a Lemmy person; I'd be trying !syncforlemmy personally. Was my favourite prior to it being shut down.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just downloaded, nice! No way to log in on kbin?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The API hasn't been enabled on kbin.social yet. Until that update gets 'pulled' the app can't work with kbin.social. Harielle has enabled the API early on her own kbin instance so the app can be used and tested.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Ooh makes sense, thanks!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Super excited about this! But is there anyway we could also get it on FDroid? The artemis.camp instance doesn't seem to work on the originally released private beta version, which is still on v0.1.7@[email protected]

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Fdroid requires apps to be open source right? I believe Hariette has said they're open to that but there's still some work to do to clean it up etc. Also if you're on the discord server then there are links to 0.2.0 versions of the apk.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Signed up an account on camp, loving the app.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Same - although I feel like there might be some growing pains with artemis.camp. Federation seems to be slow? Idk, I don’t really know how a-lot of this stuff works.

But I love the “CAMP” next to all the usernames for anyone in the artemis.camp instance!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

When the API comes out all instances will be available. We've just got to wait.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think this is what I’m seeing too. Some of the magazines I followed on social I couldn’t find here so they hadn’t federated yet but I’m sure that will all resolve soon.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Agreed. I am finding there are more magazines federating every day.

I have also noticed that pinned posts from mods are not always translating over from kbin.social to artemis.camp - if they end up federating, they are not always automatically at the top.

I think things will start to really come together once the full API is released and the full Artemis app is released on iOS and Android. If artemis.camp remains one of the default instances for the app, it could easily become one of the larger instances.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Do I recall that an iOS version is coming? Or am I confused?

Nice hariette! Thanks for all the hard work!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This is awesome!!!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Looks amazing! Well done! Look forward to seeing how it moves forward!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The only thing that seems to be missing for me on this app is being able to swype to the next post instead of going back to the feed, unless that's an option and I just haven't realized it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Smart, I haven't used one like that, the problem is that everyone is coming from different apps so everyone wants their interactions counted
