Wow, that’s super cool. What’s the local band scene like in Perth? I imagine it’s really diverse. Any home grow legends you recommend? The only ones I can think of are San Cisco, but I’m really out of the loop at the moment.

Web developer and server admin for 17 years now. Seen the rise and fall of many companies and fads. Still wrapping my head around the Fediverse but like you said, seems familiar to how the Internet used to be. Reminds me of Usenet and IRC.

Also a bit of a tin hat wearer against social media and the big it companies.. I really love my self hosted and open source.

So reddit is the next giant that lemmy gives me the opportunity to get away from it.
