Should he decide to step aside, it’ll be fun watching the pivot from ‘Biden should step down’ to ‘how could the dnc just pick someone like that, how undemocratic!’ Same people, same agenda.
I don't think it's a pivot to say now that he's chosen to step down we can continue. It's still honoring the process so long as the choice themselves steps aside voluntarily.
A lot of states (mine included) have already had their primaries, so if he steps aside then those states will not have had a say in selecting the democratic candidate. I’m guessing the talking point will then shift to something along the lines of ‘I didn’t get a choice in who the next candidate will be, so I’m not voting’ or calling for all states to re-run their primaries like that’s an option.
Yeah, I see now what you mean. That's sort of why it has to be Kamala: because she was on the ticket. I'm not hugely impressed with her avoiding questions with the same sort of smugness that Hillary portrayed and think someone like Pete is the better establishment choice for charisma, but if we're politically minded, I hope they pick her.
To be fair though there wasn't a say then since nobody else actually ran. I'm obviously just one person, but my take is that the DNC pushed Biden too hard and I'd much rather have a younger option since we'll likely end up with the same policy over the next four years as if Biden was elected, but we'll have someone more likely to beat Trump and show that the DNC values public opinion.

The media reporting on these issues has been insane lately; even sources that are left leaning seem like they’re on trump’s side. What’s with the comment in this article about Biden retreating to his vacation home while trump is out after his brush with death? Biden has a still highly contagious disease and trump’s ear got scratched.
That's how voters see it. Trump has framed the race as weakness VS strength, and everything in the last 3 weeks fits that perfectly. The debate, Bidens halting interviews since the debate, and now strong Trump got shot weak Biden back in basement. The covid stuff is bullshit, but that's how voters see it. This is a campaign.
I'm getting tired of democrats blaming the media for voters just not liking Biden. Biden his had shit approval ratings his whole term because he can't message his accomplishments, hides from the press cause they know he's too old to speak coherently, and surprise piccacho face when he's down 5 nationally, at least down 3 in every swing state after the debate. This is Hillary all over again. Candidate hated by the voters feeling like they have some right to the presidency gets trounce leaving us with authoratians in charge. Like RBG not stepping down leaving us with a 6-3 conservative super majority. But sure blame the media.

I’m just stating that the media has been covering trump differently than it has been covering Biden this election cycle and provided an example from this article. And he constantly over-states and mis-states what he has done. No, inflation wasn't at 9% when you took office. No, you don't get credit for the student loan forgiveness when the courts immediately reversed everything you tried to do. No, you don't get credit for leaving Afghanistan, you poorly executed a plan Trump committed you into.
The courts reversed his first attempt, then he changed strategy and successfully implemented many good changes to student loan forgiveness. Sucks if you don't like it, but it's still a major accomplishment that he gets to take credit for.
Also yeah he does get credit for leaving Afghanistan since fucking nobody else was going to do it lol

Yes, that's how reporting with anonymous sources works. The person writing the article knows who they are and verified that they're "close to Biden". You just have to determine whether you think the author is just making it all up.
Its barely journalism though. Facts are better than rumors.
Let's say you're a journalist. You have an in with Antony Blinken and, let's say, Karine Jean-Pierre. They both want to tell you the same thing, and you want to report it. You know they are valid sources, but you and they both know there would be HUGE blowback (personally and professionally) if they were attributed by name.
What's your alternative, and how realistic is that?
Report away, its still rumors if it isnt attributed.

Yes, it could be made up bullshit still but then you can look at the journalist themselves. Where do they work? Do you trust that source? Why or why not?
Is there a "journalist score" somewhere that rates journalists rumors over time as fact or fiction?
Are youfamiliar with the journalist in OPs article? Can you attest to their validity in their reporting? Do you have previous rumors they've reported that ended up true? How often are their reported rumors fact vs lie?
There has to be data somewhere, right?
Not to my knowledge, but it was a secret informant and journalist who basically brought down Nixon. I'm not saying this story is or is not trustworthy, but I am saying this kind of reporting with anonymous but credible sources is nothing new.
