One of my senators (Senator Tubberville) is attempting to force his religious beliefs onto the military. Specifically he seems to have a problem with the military supporting family planning. To do that he has been holding up confirmations of military officers. As a result of his actions, we have lost out on a new military base, our nation’s national security has been put at risk and he has made Alabama an even bigger laughingstock than it already was.
As you may have guessed, I am not a fan of his.
In the very competitive field of dumbest legislators, Tubberville is one of the clear favorites.
If it was just national senators I'd agree, but legislators is an awfully broad field.
Not just religious beliefs but also Tuberville's defense of white supremacy, this isn't just about service members access to abortions, it's also about how the Biden administration and the military leadership want to purge our armed forces of white supremacists and Nazis, and the US armed forces have needed that purge for a long time now.
A leaderless military is easier to conquer.
I hope Tommy Tuberville chokes on his own dick while he's trying to celebrate.
Boy that GOP sure loves the military, police, personal freedoms. Right?

Speaking during a ceremony at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Austin said the Senate’s failure to confirm the services’ new leaders is disruptive to the force and could impact relationships with allies and partners around the globe.
The confirmation of the next Army chief and Marine commandant are among more than 300 military nominations stalled by Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville, a Republican, over the Pentagon’s policy to pay for travel when a service member has to go out of state to get an abortion or other reproductive care.
Smith addressed the issue in a letter to the force on Thursday, laying out the need for the Corps to continue modernization efforts and broader programs to improve warfighting.
Tuberville has blocked efforts to have Senate votes on all nominations for senior military jobs because he disagrees with the travel pay policy.
Further complicating things, Air Force Gen. CQ Brown has been nominated to become the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, when Army Gen. Mark Milley leaves, as required by law, on Sept. 30.
