Homerpalooza. I think this is when Smashing Pumpkins were playing.

Homer Simpson, smiling politely.

This is one of the best examples of the Simpsons aging.

In homerpalooza he played the dad who was too old for this music, and he didn't understand it.

15 years later he was the dad who grew up with grunge.

And if Homer was 38 now in 2024 he'd have been the same age as this crowd is in the screenshot 😬

A 38 year old today would have been 10 when this episode aired.

Homer gets shot in stomach with barrel.

Scene is Bart commenting on depressed teens.

Yeah. He's cool. And you're correct. Whatever.

I left a message with some guy number 4.

Making teenagers depressed is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Somebody ordered the London Symphony Orchestra--

possibly while high.

Cypress Hill, I'm looking in your direction.

Did the simpsons (once again) predict the future? Or was cypress hill already playing with the LSO at the time?

Or are they doing this for the memes???

Edit: NVM the description is in the link.... They are totally aware of the simpsons reference. Amazing!!

28 years after The Simpsons first made the joke, Cypress Hill are now finally set to share a stage with the London Symphony Orchestra, performing a special rendition of the hip hop collective’s revered album Black Sunday as well as other hits from their extensive back-catalogue.

In 1996, one of the most-watched TV shows in the world, The Simpsons, joked that Cypress Hill had accidentally booked a gig with the London Symphony Orchestra while under the influence. Now, the running joke that has turned into countless hopeful moments for fans of Cypress Hill and The Simpsons, is becoming an exciting, dynamic reality.

I think the Simpsons guided them in this case. Just one day, "You know what? What if we did do that?"

My school library didn't have any information about Grand Funk. I feel so betrayed.
