I think we can agree on what constitutes capitalism while disagreeing on how best to throw off its chains. I'm not a fan of discounting anarchists' disdain for the state itself, nor for Marxists' belief in revolution, at least not while capitalists maintain control

Anarchists already don't agree with some Marxists. Some Marxists identify capitalism with markets. Anarchists tend to distinguish markets and capitalism, and admit even if they are anti-market themselves that:

  1. Capitalism is not synonymous with the use of markets i.e. a postcapitalist society could use markets with worker coops in some cases
  2. Anarchy would have room for experimentation with different non-capitalist economic mechanisms including non-capitalist markets

I'm well aware. I personally am anarchist. This is supposed to be a unifying space though, so I'm not sure I want to focus the points of contention

That's fair. I thought discussing what the differences are would be useful to enable clearer understanding of each other. Often, people tend to talk past each other

I appreciate your contribution. I'm not opposed to your post. I just want to take care not to alienate other leftists and post-leftists, especially since I'm a moderator here.
