But guys, Putin is a reasonable actor! If we ask really really nicely, maybe Ukraine is even allowed to keep Odessa! All they want is for us to stop all military support.

It's always fun to see how long a post can go before the pro-ruZZia trolls come in trying to paint everything as "Ukraine is aggressive and corrupt and full of nazis and is also only being propped up by coraggressive, corrupt, nazi filled governments of the west and also just in case the topic isn't directly related to the US, America bad"

It's great when all the people who are "just asking questions" seem to all have the exact same questions mildly rephrased, and all seemingly don't post anything except in those specific posts or a smattering of generic comments in others. I'm not saying they're paid trolls. I'm saying they're all fucking idiots of the same caliber, all thinking they're so clever and insightful, all repeating the same lines they've heard from actual paid trolls.

Truth eludes he who does not seek it with both eyes wide.

Well, but at least the West didn't escalate... Seriously though, how long are we gonna let them do this shit? And the fuck is this even supposed to achieve? Does Russia think if they murder the big heads of our arms industry that we stop sending Ukraine gear? This would likely have very much the opposite effect.

Legit, if I worked for their company, this would just make me want to work harder.

"oh you already fucked with them and now you're trying to fuck with us for helping them? Oh nah nahnahnahnahnah son you done fucked up" loads munition with retributive intent

This came to my mind instantly. Apply it however you like, still fits!

Neat! Spy movie when?

I’m going to look for a non-cnn source on that piece

I'm posting your link here instead of having duplicate posts

Axel Springer is arguably worse.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Thanks for that. Most of cnn’s donations go to republicans.

No, their donations are pretty much split 50:50 between republicans and Democrats.

You also can't donate to CNN.

There's some billionaires like Bezos that gave millions to political commenters directly, under the cover of philanthropic efforts, though.

Your statement is false according to my source:

CNN doesn't donate but as your screenshot shows, it's parent company Warner Brothers Discovery.

Here are their tiny political contributions:

Maybe look into AT&T, but I already did and they watch out it's 50:50.

Your screenshot (which I wouldn't count a source without a link) seems to be wrong and way outdated, since it isn't called Time Warner since 2018, but I suppose the data is way older.

WASHINGTON -- Time Warner Inc. said it would no longer make large contributions to political parties, unilaterally surrendering a major weapon that companies, unions and other interests use to lobby lawmakers.

The entertainment conglomerate is the biggest "soft money" donor so far to publicly forswear the practice. Time Warner and Timothy Boggs, its top lobbyist, donated $471,000 to national party committees in the last election cycle, and a like amount to various st

Please don't post pictures as sources, especially in a political context. In the same way, don't take picture sources at face value. That's just asking to fall for disinformation.

Well, looks like they can't even have a proper date function for their comments and just display some template format. Top quality. lol

CNN is biased, but they don't outright lie when it comes to things like this.

[–] [email protected] -4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don’t trust media conglomerates like them

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

That's Fair.

If they're reporting government officials, they won't even attempt to fuck it up, though. They need to keep their status as a trusted source for the government. So they keep it neutral and factual. There's few better sources for this kind of stuff.

That's why the Diddy-Classy video was sent to them by the feds.

Political commentary, yeah forget it, their commenters are in billionaires pockets.

Don't worry reputable German newspapers and public broadcasting is also reporting this.
