Future generations will refer to this period in time as another Dark Age because companies gleefully destroy information the moment it becomes unprofitable. Erasing history forever.

This is why stronger laws are needed. It's not enough to prevent actual monopolies when companies can just merge and acquire their way into being a monolith that's technically not a monopoly.
