I'm with everyone else here:

The account has two comments from 10 months ago about how there is no real justification for using the atomic bombs on Japan, and this post. Really not sure what the dela is

[-] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

Which is also my reaction to the post being upvoted.

Gonna need some context on the sells information or else you risk being on the Santa Naughty List

Agree. Where’s the smoke?

[-] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago

Oh, sorry. They meant, "No smoke; without fire" it's like the firewatcher's "All clear". There's no smoke and they're without fire.

A meme said it! Can't be wrong, unless proof otherwise!

[-] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

Well actually, You can heat things up to a temperature where they do sublimate, without there being an ignition source.

“No smoke without fire” is a misnomer.

Did you ... Have a bad dream or something?

[-] [email protected] 66 points 1 week ago

Fantasy author Neil Gaiman?

[-] [email protected] 61 points 1 week ago

I'm pretty sure Neil Gaiman enjoys milk and cookies, he even wrote the story Fortunately, The Milk where a kid goes back in time to get the ever-important milk that his father forgot to pick up.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

It was my favorite book when I was like 8 years old.

There's no evidence Santa isnt selling our data

[-] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago

Everyone knows Santa is in bed with corporations. Just look at how many cameos he makes in ads and shopping malls! I would be very surprised if he didn't sell all his data.

There is a Brazilian Rock Band with a great song named "Santa Claus son of a bitch" (or maybe motherfucker) here is the Google translate (with light editing) of the first couple verses:

Santa Claus motherfucker
Reject the wretched
I want to kill him!
That capitalist pig

Give gifts to the rich
And spits on the poor
Give gifts to the rich
And spits on the poor
[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

I heard he's a Coca-Cola Plant

[-] [email protected] 39 points 1 week ago

I've come back to this after sleeping to check; has anyone figured out what the hell this means?

[-] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

I've also come back but 6 h later. Can confirm. No one knows what it means

[-] [email protected] 34 points 1 week ago

I must be confused... Good omens Neil gaiman?

[-] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago

Yeah, but... Why did you capitalize 'Good' and 'Neil', but not 'omens' and 'gaiman'?

[-] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

Looks like mobile auto formatting to me. G after a period, N is from a name, g ends with a ? but no space afterwards, so it doesn't auto capitalize.

What’s wrong with Neil’s beard?

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago
[-] [email protected] 32 points 1 week ago

Honesty the funniest thing I’ve read on the lemmiverse. Holy shit. I don’t understand why it is so funny.

[-] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago

With current AI hallucinations, you at least have a glimpse of what is happening. This hallucination is absolute bonkers though.

Santa's the one buying all the personal information because he has to update the naughty list

Geil Naiman

[-] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

I love how everyone is debating "Sells that information to companies", but no one's talking about "knows everything you do".

Author of American Gods, Coraline, countless other gems and the co-writer of Good Omens with Pratchett.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

Never heard of any of that. But thanks.

Not sure what library/resources you use but definitely worth checking out

[-] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

That's a wholesome comic. Thanks.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Ironically, it's a pretty well-known one itself (you see people just refer to it by mentioning "today's 10000").

Go pick up smoke and mirrors, it’s a short story collection, very easy to get into. If you love it, check out the American Gods novel and the Sandman comics. The original sandman is a bit dated at this point, but still some amazing storytelling.

Where do you think he gets his story ideas? You think Sandman is fiction?

Neil "Scary Trousers" Gaiman
