If your freshly born newborn doesn’t poop because she’s constipated, well they work surprisingly like toothpaste tubes if you hold their knees to their chest.

I’m sorry for the image. I’ve earned my “grit your teeth and do what you gotta” merit badge at just a week and a half postpartum, so I’m… happy?

Seems quite practical actually!

I ask my four year old if anger is at the control panel when she is starting to have a tantrum and it has actually been working to defuse the tantrums before they really get going.

Sorry, I don't get it. Could you explain that for a non-native speaker?

It's a reference to a movie she likes, Inside Out.

When I ask my kid to clean it seems to work well (minimal complaining) to focus on getting small sections totally clean instead of saying something like, "Clean up your Lego," which might be everywhere.

Getting a dog has done more for my mental health than years of talk therapy.

Is that in the context of parenting?

I didn't leave the original comment, but I would say it certainly makes some parts of parenting easier. We just adopted a dog, and it has helped in strange ways. Expected ways such as my kid is much better about picking up his toys, putting away his laundry, and not leaving his shoes random places, but also it gives him something else to interact with that isn't a glowing rectangle, or asking me a million questions.

I finally perfected my cloth diaper poop dunk-n-swish technique to un-brown diapers while out on the go, so as not to have to spray so much in the evening when we get home. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to be effective at removing the brown solids from a cloth diaper with a dunk-n-swish.
