[Apologies if this isn't where this should be posted. New to Lemmy and figuring this whole thing out].

After watching my brother experiment with KDE for the first time, I was inspired to try a bit on my own layout. Mix of Win 11 / 7, GNOME, Android and ChromeOS. A little of everything as I think it's just pretty and works for me.

Absolutely love KDE! <3

Looks good! What is the name of the weather plasmoid?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Thanks! The weather plasmoid is Wunderground PWS Widget by odd-k. You need to find your Weatherstation ID from here: https://www.wunderground.com/

Damn that looks great! What launcher is that?

Edit: Found it! It's Ditto Menu

@intrapt @Jae I agree it looks amazing, and that launcher looks interesting too!

This is far too late of a response, but I'm glad you found it! I haven't logged in for a while, but I'm coming back now. Apologies for not getting back! Ditto menu really is great. <3

You say you were inspired and mixed several OS's together. What was the Thing you got from Android and ChromeOS?

But yeah, as long as you are happy and feel comfortable with your rice you've done good.

Hard to explain for me, but a lot of it comes down to a simplicity factor. I love KDE, I love having control, but I also loving having a surface that I can just work with, yknow? So, there is always settings to go under the hood, but rarely will I need to. I tried to simplify my system using certain widgets and thematic stuffs. Sounds odd, but this is the best way I can put it, haha. I appreciate you asking!

Thank you as well! I didn't want anything complicated, just a bit pretty and mainly functional. Your words here are something I'll take to heart. Have a good day!
