Sublemmy for the Detroit Lions

Found this article about under the radar players for the Lions. Who do you think will surpass expectations? Who do you think we will be worse than expected?

Honestly, having not watched any OTAs or the sort I think James Houston might be a little underwhelming. I think this is mostly because expectations from some people are wildly sky high for him.

Curious to see how it goes with Josh Paschal. Because of his injury he just disappeared so I don't really know anything about him. But sounds like he's ready to go this year and live up to his second round draft pedigree. Pretty interested to see what happens with Alim McNeill too, been hearing lots of hype about him in the media.

Interesting article by the way, thanks for sharing. I never think to look at the Lions' own site for coverage.

I'm trying to keep a post a day going here so the community doesn't feel dead if more people show up. So I rounded up some Lions Twitter reporters and just putting what I found here. Unfortunately I'm not sure the venn diagram of Lemmy users / people who left Reddit and sports people overlap much. Maybe we'll get more in July when the API changes actually happen or leading up to week 1 against the Chiefs.

Great idea with regular posts!

I've noticed that sports content has migrated much less than my other interests. Maybe a combination of the interests of the pre-existing Lemmy users (for example the beehaw gardening community is pretty active) and the sports redditors being less engaged in the boycott than other categories of redditors?

I was super pumped for Paschal last year before his injury so excited to see what he can do with a full off-season to get healthy, train, and study.

I forget where I saw it but somebody was saying Alim is going to benefit from the rookie Brodric Martin coming in and just being so physically imposing. Between Alim getting faster and Brodric possibly needing two blockers should be exciting to watch up the middle.
