I am EXTREMELY bias against Bo4. I hate that game.

Bo3 was the best zombies experience we've ever gotten, and coming off those coattails with virtually limitless potential for the 10 year story to progress. And what do they do?

Scrapped juggernog, reduced the number of perks you can buy to fucking 4, gave you all the special weapons off the bat instead of unlocking them, GOD DAMN ELEMENTAL ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE, split the story into two with this half assed nonsense story coming out of nowhere and the original story being reduced to ridiculous choppy crap. Easter eggs sucked and were buggy and honestly every aspect of the game infuriated me more and more. I truly hated every decision gone into making this game and my lifetime goal of helping to create a zombies game has changed from working with Activision treyarch, to burying Activision treyarch.

Cold war was a nice step back towards good gameplay, however it also has issues. For one, stupidly easy Easter eggs. For another scrapping the individual characters unique and witty dialogue for empty hollow blanket voices so they could sell us more microtransactions make the game not just bland, but honestly less memorable. I mean I played those maps for hours but I don't even remember where the best place to train is lol. I wasn't a big fan of leveling up perks either, as it just feels like a fairly circulatory grind for something that should just be valued by the price of the perk in each game. The maps though were really well built and leveling up guns genuinely entertained me for hours. However, I don't even have this game downloaded anymore because everyone gave up on it when mw2 released. And why wouldn't they, as maps like forsaken were so buggy many players often couldn't get to the boss fight even months after release and the game itself took up a MASSIVE amount of storage space that just wasn't justified.

As far as zombies is concerned Bo4 is probably the worst experience of them all to me, very much dislike everything but the maps and some of the weapons. I was one of the people trying to give them room for changes so the mode could grow and evolve but they did not do good

Cold War was a lot more like what I had hoped Bo4 would do with zombies and I'm hopeful we'll be getting more in that style. Vanguard had a bit of it and that made it worth playing for a bit, but CW is still prolly my fave ever

yeah certain people don't want innovation. I am in the same camp as you where I want innovation and am willing to give it a chance but if it is done poorly. I will critique and give feedback. I think cold war had the system innovation that was good, I just wasn't a big fan of the maps. Hopefully cod zombies 2024 is the map quality of the choas with the system of cold war.

Stop the bo4 slander already, could have been the best Zombies in the series, but it's a close second behind bo3, due to nostalgia reasons and zombie chronicles.

Absolutely beautifully detailed maps, easy to get into, with challenging but super interesting and well made easter eggs.

We didn't appreciate what we had back then, but everything we got after was a spit to the face. Looking back at it now, it's an absolute gem. Fuck we even got difficulty levels, a new mode, and even more challenges with gauntlets. Nah fuck what I said, it takes the crown.

Additionally what was rumored for year2. 4 additional maps, zombie chronicles 2 and the return of grief. It's too bad all of that got scrapped. It would've made it's lead only bigger

B04 was under appreciated in its day for sure like IW. Both IW and B04 have grown in appreciation/love in the community the further we get from there lifecycles.

Honestly I would say the opposite, the hate was kinda warranted back in the days. The game crashed a lot and the battle pass system that wasn't progressable when playing zombie for like the first half(?) of the cycle was kind of a joke. Although it is also to blame partly on the community, for being simple-minded and not accepting changes like the perks. Although even that, was understandable in the beginning. But with the semi-jugg added later, speed cola as a bonus for having all perks, and double tap available through multiple pap'ing was nice additions and really you don't miss much when playing now and you got used to it.

On top, the variety for perks is just fantastic to have. If you've gotten used to it, it does suck hopping back into bo3 and having to get the at least 3 crunch perks simply because you have to.

On bo4 there might be perks you run all the time because they suit your play style but there's so much that I see different people playing. For example I see people swear on dying wish while personally that isn't good for me at all. There's just so much you can do with the system and it's great.

If the game released in it's final state now it would be like literally the best thing to happen to zombies.

I wish we'd have such high quality maps again
