Connect for Lemmy can do that
I have Connect (and Jerboa, and some others) installed already, but I like Thunder best. If I can figure out how to block communities (assuming it's easy), I'll just adopt Thunder 100%.
I tried out thunder, and it looks good.
There seem to be an option in the 3 dots of a post to block a community. It seems to also be possible to manage blocked communities from the app.
However, there are 2 bigmissing features :
Real search. Right now the app can only search for communities, not posts or anything else.
And hide read posts.
These 2 features already have a github issue post.
Some enhancements would be to add the ability to add instances without connecting to them, but it's not a necessity.
Weird. I don't see 3 dots next to the posts or a way to manage clocked communities. Bummer. I like swiping to upvote/downvote/reply etc, but I may end up heading back to Connect.
Hey! Could you check what version of Thunder you're currently on (you should see it at the bottom of the Settings page)? Ability to block and manage blocked communities is available on v0.2.1+13
There's currently no way to block instances, only communities at the moment!
Hey thanks! It turns out I'm on v0.2.1+8. I'll reinstall and see what happens. Good catch!
You nailed it! And so far the upgraded version looks way better but still feels clean. Nice. And FWIW, I don't think I want to block instances. I mainly wanted to hide communities.
Just switch to Jerboa. You can do that there.
