Charlize Theron made Furiosa a great character. So why is she missing from Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga? Director George Miller explains the reason.

The reason is: by the time the studio said yes, Theron couldn't pass as 20 years younger while being 10 years older in real life.

It could have been like one of those Indian action movies where one actor plays both the main character and that character's father.

Saving you a click: Miller wanted to use her, but the new movie takes place 20 years before Fury Road and he was not happy with the results of de-aging technology after looking I to it.

I always thought Charlize Theron wasn't susceptible to aging ... so there wouldn't be any need for this.
