Imagine if meta spent those billions fighting climate change, war, or extreme poverty instead. Even just one billion dollars is a absurd amount of money to be wasted there.

poor kids read dystopic sci fi and thought it was a horror story. Rich kids read those stories and thought that they could rule that dystopia some day.
