Alright, so the plan has been revealed. I can't say that I fully understand the money making scheme, but I am glad that Lawrence seems to have it figured out. Holo is pretty melancholy for a good portion of this episode, talking about how oppressive loneliness can be and describing her dream/nightmare of being alone (@[email protected]):

Something I was surprised by is how quickly the "secret" of Holo's wolf identity seems to have been revealed. I wonder what the ramifications of this reveal will be. They have made it clear that the church is quite powerful in this nation and that Holo is decidedly not a fan of the church. Looking forward to next episode.

Lawrence got tangled up in bigger scheme than even he realized. With nobility being involved, it's no surprise they had an entire town worth of thugs looking for his ass as soon as they found out he's onto them. Greed got the better of him, it might have been smarter to take the losses and keep your head down than to get involved.
