Sharing in Italy (scribe.disroot.org)
submitted 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

My friend in Italy just asked me how to "share" files over this TCP based protocol, what sites do you guys use and precautions they need to use like condoms with a bully's mum.

Edit: I think everyone misunderstood what I was trying to say, I said "share" because I meant torrenting ;)

Do you mean file sharing like torrents?

Use a VPN like ProvonVPN

Proton doesn't allow torrenting

It does, I've been using it for months, no issues

it blocks your internet if it detects you're torrenting. what are you using it for ? private tracker?

https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc1149

Less risk of computer viruses, higher risk of bird flu though.

Don’t need vpn in Italy. Just don’t fuck around iptvs for sports and don’t make a business out of torrenting

Recently in Spain a small pub/bar owner had been streaming all important football matches through piracy to avoid paying 400€/mo for something only a handful of people would be seeing in such remote place.

She was demanded, sent to court, and won. For piracy, southern Europe is crazy good.

Max of 25gb and Max 24h/ 100 downloads. Else, send.vis.ee allows 5gb and lengthier time and number of downloads, I think it was 1 week as max. And last, there's pcloud.com which is like Dropbox, so it requires registration, and gives you 10gib

for torrenting, you only really need a VPN and a torrent client, as for precaution, I guess just bind qbittorrent with VPN. and for sites to find torrents, there's plenty on the megathread or fmhy, tell him to use an adblocker like uBlock Origin

The VPN is not that important here, no one cares about piracy in Italy unless you're streaming football/soccer

You could use

python -m http.server

This would create a server with the directory listing.

Give him your IP address and he can download from it.
