Try lemmygrad, just don't expect to get federated
Same thing happened on Mastodon after Twitter migration. People are talking about reddit because that's the big news right now. Give it time. There will be more content.
Not ime. There's lots of reddit discussion now cause it's pertinent info right now. I've found plenty of good stuff besides the communist content. Like normal reddity, not meta, posts.
Lemmy is not any one type of place. It's whatever we make it. There just happens to be a thriving community of communists here. We're in the early stages and we're finding our way.
I find myself thinking, throughout my day, OH I can post this! Where I wouldn't normally do that.
My feed is mostly Star Trek and knitting, tbh.
Give a shout-out to the knitting communities :D been trying to diversify my feed.
I'll do you one better and copy this list of all the crafty places I've found so far in general:

[email protected] (direct link) isn't something I do personally but I do enjoy perving over their projects anyway.
Beehaw added [email protected] if you want to talk about leftist topics, but the rules there are that you have to be nice to everybody. It is basically the opposite of the tenor of r/socialism, so take that under advisement.

No. Lemmygrade is an ML instance. Afaik, lemmy.ml is just vaguely leftist.
Lemmygrad is a Marxism-focused instance and Hexbear is currently making the migration to mainline Lemmy right now.
Just like reddit, you gotta get off the default main pages. Go to browse.feddit.de and just start looking for communities that interest you. When you find one, tab over to [your.instance]/search and paste its URL or name (it'll be formatted like [email protected]) into the search bar, click "sidebar" then "subscribe".
After you've joined a number of communities, you'll start seeing a more varied bunch of stuff.
Only if that's all you look at.
Next week will be the last time the third party apps to be available to the reddit users. So expect to have more reddit angst next week.
I've thrown content i find interesting on the beehaw communities. Yall gotta start posting content(no, meta posts about reddit is not content)
I really hope fanaticus.social takes off, it’s a great idea.
People are going through several stages of grief at the moment. This was all so sudden and feels so unnecessary, it didn't have to happen and it didn't have to happen this way. This ended up being toxic on top of toxic.
