June 30th is my date. I have a 13 year old account and a 8 year old account. I'm considering options what to do with the accounts. I'm split between selling them or nuking all the comments and deleting them.

- Not ad nauseam inducing: please make sure it is a question that would be new to most members

I might delete it when Boost kicks it at the end of the month, we'll see.
I need to go through all my saved posts, and then I will delete it. Just delaying it since I probably have 500 posts saved... will take ages
Iβm probably gonna keep my account but only use it on desktop with Ad blocker. If they break it with ad blocker I might delete but not sure. Itβs hard to delete something Iβve been using for so long but Iβll definitely not use their shitty mobile app
Lemmy is reddit but open source and federated. I was already sold on it before I knew about it, there just wasn't a community to interact with before. Now there's a community. my reddit accounts including all comments except for some relating to lemmy migration have been vaporized.
A few years ago, I have no regrets. I could browse the site without an account anyway
Not sure yet, a lot of subs haven't set up on Lemmy yet. Hoping that'll change after the blackout next week.
I didn't delete it but I stop using it for now. I will hold for a few months to see how things develop and decide what to do next. I use Reddit mostly due to Developer communities (Android, Kotlin, etc) which doesn't seem to exist in Lemmy, yet.
I hope the communities migrate here with time but overall, I'm finding the servers a little confusing and the Android app has space to improve.
I was always a lurker on Reddit so I donβt have to worry about purging post or comment history. I literally just havenβt gotten around to deleting it yet. Iβll miss the more local niche communities, but theyβll show up here and in other places in time.
I've deleted everything I posted/comment and my account yesterday. Granted Ive had already done this a couple years ago so this account wasn't that valuable.
I deleted it and just use a rss reader to access any subs I care about.
I started deleting my most-used accounts last year. Something felt off on the site since 2015 and it's only gotten worse.
No, there's too many little niche subreddits that lemmy doesn't even come close to replicating. I have been using the official reddit app for the better part of a year so I'm not personally affected by the ban on 3rd party apps.
I already deleted all the content of my account, I will probably delete the account when boost dies on June 30th.
After the AMA yesterday, I made the decision to delete all of my posts and comments. I'm not sure I see a reason todeletee my account altogether as I think not giving traffic to Reddit is more important, so I left everything else the way it is. Maybe one of these days I'll go back through and delete everything for good.
All that said, like most other people here, I have no intention of going back, especially after yesterday, unless there's some sort of drastic change which is very unlikely.
I'll have no choice but to delete RIF after it shuts down, so I'll probably make the tough decision after that.
I'm holding out with some copium for now. There's some local subs and niche subs that I'd like to still follow and will likely not migrate. I'll likely switch to RSS and old.reddit only once RIF dies and Lemmy and mastodon will likely be my mobile social media. I don't mind using multiple social media apps, but it'd be great to have it all in one place.
It will be a while until I consider Reddit replaced for me. There I subscribe to a ton of subs with only a few thousand people. Even if all of these already existed here, it would take some time to find them.
I'm going to leave the account, delete most of the old content and switch to posting links back to fediverse. Likely automated.
Migrating completely to a new platform is a process for me, especially if it's one I'm actively viewing content on. I still have my Reddit account but I suspect that will not be the case for much longer, as was the case with Twitter when I moved to Mastodon, and others.
Yep. I waited too long on Twitter. Not making the same mistake again.
I haven't yet, I'm still a moderator and it will be hard to leave reddit EDIT: Spelling
I yeeted my account today. I've used reddit for ~10 years now. It's sad about some niche communities and inside-jokes, but if people keep using lemmy i'm sure they will find their way here eventually.
I am also hesitant to remove everthing. Maybe someone for example has the same question I once had. If Reddit holds on to their decisions I will probably delete the app though.
