RetroArch - RetroArch is the popular front-end to libretro which is a simple API that allows for the creation of games and emulators.
The forks are still available - Luzu. Just make a fork out of it on Codeberg or GitLab, or your own private Git host. And I guess this move probably calls for a Nintendo boycott? These fuckers shut down the store on 3DS and Wii, and then they complain about piracy. Now I'm gonna buy Pal World in the nearest future as a passive-aggressive move.
Edit- that fork is gone. It was outdated to begin with. Codeberg and GitLab has what you're all looking for.

Sure. I don't believe the source is going to disappear altogether, though I do believe it's going to get harder to find as time goes on.
