I finally got it! Though I couldn't test the CBM then and there, as its way too dusty under the hood. Didnt wanna risk shorting the electrics or worse. I'll show just how dusty it all is tomorrow.

Talking of Dusty insides, the insides in general are rather interesting actually. It has From what I can tell, some ancient modifications done to it which im not sure what they do. But thats for tomorrow! Im just glad that I got to pick it up today, and I even got this pretty cute pic while I was at it!

Do you have a suede dashboard?

It does. The Subaru SVX is a pretty wild car. It had the crazy split windows that you can see in the picture as well.

Yeah that car is really trying out different things. Also nice find on the Commodore

What kind of design is it where the passenger has to ask the driver to turn on the seat warmers??

I love how jank my SVX is. There are just so many odd choices made in it, that I can't help but love it! Also sadly neither of those heated seats work at the moment...

I love to see old tech being loved and treasured. Cheers to this and may every old computer have such a loving home.

Very cool find. I remember very vividly playing Oregon trail on a Pet at school.

Assuming it works, are you going to look for a drive, or maybe a flash storage interface?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah I'll look for one of those original Dual Floppy Drives! Though might be a bit difficult as they are all more expensive then the Computer itself...

I wonder if a parallel interface could be hacked into a 1581, making use of the ROM's support for it.

Yeah I've read online that there is an adapter of sorts, but from what I understand it isnt fully compatible

even if its fried you can make an awesome mechanical keyboard out of it. this is like 1979 technology, maybe 16kb total ram, what maybe 1mhz processor?
