Wondering if there are any recommendations for city-builders on the steam deck. Preferably with a realistic 3d style. I'm not fond of 2d games or cartoon graphics for these kind of games. Also war shouldn't be the biggest focus. I prefer a more relaxed game. Really would like to find one which people can recommend for the deck.

Against the Storm is my person favorite on steam deck. Maps are not super huge and it’s kind of a rogue-lite city builder so the cities don’t necessarily become sprawling landscapes that choke the steam deck. It also happens to be on sale right now.

Other one I do on Steam Deck is Timberborn

How do you find Timberborn on the deck? I struggle with the controls somewhat

Did you try remapping the controls? It runs great!

Thanks for the recommendation but unfortunately both are too cartoony for me artstyle wise.

Okay, no problem. Maybe you should try Farthest Frontier. It also works really well on SD. I didn’t mention it before because I enjoy the others more right now but FF is expected to drop a huge patch sometime in the near future.

Wandering village ran perfectly for me on the deck. The controls feel pretty good too once you get used to them.

I absolutely loved Surviving Mars!

It worked perfectly on the deck, I had no issues whatsoever. That was a big point for me too regarding SD controls and a city builder. 100% would play through it again!
