Last summer, one chilled in my trees for a few days. Tons of potential prey in my yard. My picture looks like it was taken by a rotten potato.

That sounds awesome. I just use my iPhone and hold my monocular up to it.

I got to see crows mobbing a peregrine falcon today in my yard so that was pretty exciting.

I always wondered how well all these external phones lenses worked, I guess I know the answer now. That's pretty neat.

Are there really so few bald eagles around Michigan? We have loads and loads of them in NW Ohio. I can't go on a hike without seeing at least one, and i usually see one while driving to Lake Erie.

No there’s definitely a good amount. I’ve just not seen anything but juvenile ones that I could identify. I’ve only been in to birding since the summer really so my sample size is still pretty small.
