Had go to the shitty Reddit site for the first time in a couple of months today. Aaaaaaannnddd servers are down.

Lol, meanwhile I haven't had issues with Lemmy for a couple of months, and never had any issues with mastodon.

It's probably from everyone all trying to access it from the same shitty useless app that no one wanted to use in the first place

Man I just love all the different apps and frontends that were made for Lemmy. People could get the look and featureset they wanted.

@MrJameGumb I certainly wouldn't pay for their API key if their API goes down as often as it does. Good business strategy

I tried via Firefox recently. Apparently it was an adult discussion that needed age verification through their propriety app.

old.reddit.com still bypasses all that.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago

I think you can bypass that by requesting the desktop version, but it may have changed since I last tried to access a cat video link and got the mature content warning..

Did someone age check spez? And an iq test while they are at it.

@minibyte yeah it's back up now, but I already got the answer to the question I was looking for by posting to Lemmy on a different account. If that site doesn't want my traffic, I can re-post a question, wait longer, and not burden them. ☺️

They actually replaced the upvote and downvotes with hearts the other day. Did anybody else notice that? It was likely an A/B test for valentines day or some shit like that.

What did you have to go to Reddit for?
