Over the last two years I've been building up my little home networking collection, and have been starting to think if its time to move to a rack mounted cabinet to hold everything in an organized spot. Currently, I have

  • Main Gaming PC
  • Work PC
  • Synology NAS
  • ISP modem
  • Wifi Router
  • unmonitored switch
  • Phillips Hue Controller

So I'd at least need the following

  • Rack
  • Case for Main PC
  • Case for Work PC
  • Power Strip
  • A rack shelf or two for my non-racked equipment.

Currently, my main PC sits under my desk, and my NAS and work pc are tucked away in my media cabinet. ( not the best for cooling, but its at least out of sight as I have very little open floor space)

I am worried about how much space it would take up, but it would be nice to have everything in one place, with proper cooling.

I'm wondering if there is anything else I should consider, or if its even worth doing since all this stuff adds up quick. ( easily looking at $1000 for everything I would need )
