I wish to copy 500GB of data from one SSD to another

The problem is that the new SSD was not even taken out of the Amazon box for 6 months. Is it safe to transfer all my data to this new one?

Btw old SSD was regularly plugged and used

Will it start working well after this 6 month sleep?

SSD is WD My passport 1 TB, both old and new
