Howdy all.

I have a nice 32 TB server that's got shut 8TB left. If like to expand, but not sure how to best do it. Asking for advice on how to increase my storage space.

My setup: Dual E5-2650v2 CPUs 128 GB RAM VMWare ESXi 6.7 (passing the sas controllers to the TrueNAS VM) One sas controller runs the drive array, the other runs the mirrored OS drive (where all the vm OSs live).

The controller with the drives is maxed out.

Is my best option to buy another case +power supply and and external sas card to add more drives? Would I have to buy thr same size drives as what i have now (8tb WD)?

Thank you!
