Hello everybody

Here's hoping I can find an answer on the Fediverse, since I refuse to provide content to Reddit.

I have this issue on my Fedora install, that the boot screen where I enter my disk encryption password doesn't show up. It's not a big deal, because if I press Esc I can still see the text mode to enter my password, but it's still odd since it has been like that for a few months, where I had the same issue with an old fresh install and another fresh installation after switching drives. I couldn't find anything on the internet except that one forum entry from a few years back, but apparently an update fixed that issue.

Any ideas what could be at fault here?

I'm guessing you have updated entirely, and you on version 38? Did it ever work for you prior?

I do have all updates installed and I am on Fedora 38. When I installed Fedora 38 newly without any prior config it worked sporadically like every 4-6 boots but after the second reinstall trying to fix it, it doesn't work at all anymore.

I am not familiar with this particular sort of situation, but it may simply be a bug. I would search the Bugzilla and related upstream projects repos for issues possibly related. If you don't find anything, you may even be useful by submitting a bug report, and see how that goes.
