DOTs will never want to decrease the size/effectiveness of an interstate. Even if it's clearly the best thing for a city or community.
The fact that they're considering expanding it and adding lanes is bonkers and straight up negligent. Anyone thinks they should add lanes should straight up be fired from their job.
