I would love some advice here, hopefully someone reading this has some experience with brute-forcing wallet.dat passwords. I have an old Bitcoin wallet dating back to 2012. I forgot the password a long time ago (I think I saved it in a txt file which is long gone…). I’ve attempted to brute-force the password a few years back using hashcat without any luck. What would the best way be in 2024? Assume that the password is random letters, symbols and numbers. Length? No clue… Is hashcat still the best method for brute-forcing it in 2024? Looking for the quickest/most performant solution.
