How the hell are all these people going to get around to these venues? Transit sucks, especially in the sunshine coast and in the Redlands (or anywhere outside of the CBD for that matter).

Whatever happened to the Eastern Busway? It gets as far as Coorparoo and then buses get released into the hellscape of Old Cleveland Road. The intersection near Carindale with the appearing and disappearing bus lanes feels like some sort of bad Cities Skylines edit.

Now is the perfect time to start building those regional connectors so we don't get embarrassed on the international stage when all our precious olympic tourists get crammed into hired bus coaches.

Have they announced anything yet about the routes that'll be used for the Triathlon, Marathon, and the (cycling) Road Race? I know the Triathlon will be on the Gold Coast (understandable, though I'd have preferred Sunshine Coast like Noosa or Mooloolaba), but I don't know anything about the others.

Members from UQ Canoe Club are excited about the white water facility. There's no places to have a go at it at all unless you plan a really long trip up north...which also means you need to share water with crocodiles! Then you need to recruit two experienced people to guide you so you don't die!

I would never do it myself. Ocean waves are fun enough for me.
