  • All new white water facility in Redlands near Old Cleveland Road (couldn't figure out where)
  • Upgraded rowing facility at Queensland State Rowing Centre located on Wyaralong Dam (West of Beaudesert)

  • Upgraded stadium in Cairns for Football

How the hell are all these people going to get around to these venues? Transit sucks, especially in the sunshine coast and in the Redlands (or anywhere outside of the CBD for that matter).

Whatever happened to the Eastern Busway? It gets as far as Coorparoo and then buses get released into the hellscape of Old Cleveland Road. The intersection near Carindale with the appearing and disappearing bus lanes feels like some sort of bad Cities Skylines edit.

Now is the perfect time to start building those regional connectors so we don't get embarrassed on the international stage when all our precious olympic tourists get crammed into hired bus coaches.

I'll admit I'm not in the regions much (live in gc) but it's a damn shame how much we neglect bus routes when we've basically figured out an easy scalable thing with the busways. Are they forced to negotiate rather heavy traffic?
