this notion that the people and the government exist as separate, independent entities where you can hate one and love the other, is entirely nonsensical.

From where I live, it looks like a typical clash of two imperial mentalities, different only in their flags' colours.

Also "communist China"? Heeelllooo? State capitalism at its best.
