I've got the remarkable 2 and love it but can't justify the price of the cases on their website.

I went through this subreddit and found a few that stuck out and noted that most recommended ones that do no have magnetic covers only spines - I found this one: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B097BYVJ7C?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

While it's a nice cover I find it still kind of messes with the screen - in some spots I noticed a more pronounced misalignment of the marker tip to the screen so it would write 2-3 mm to the left of it the marker tip. Has anyone had this?

In emailing remarkable they recommended:

"This appears to be a calibration issue on your device, a hard shutdown may fix the issue: Hold down the power button for 15 seconds. You won’t see a response from the screen, but it will force your reMarkable to shut down. Let go of the power button and wait a few seconds. Hold the power button again for about two seconds, to turn it back on. In addition to, we cannot guarantee that it is the solution, but you can try to swipe your marker horizontally across the surface of the screen of your reMarkable device to demagnetized it. Please tell us how it goes.

Furthermore, this problem can sometimes occur and is usually caused by the marker tip not being fully connected to the electronic pressure sensors on the inside.

I recommend that you take out the marker tip and then reinsert it carefully, but firmly. When inserting a new tip, make sure you put it nice and straight, and as far down as possible.

If that doesn't do the trick, then try replacing the marker tip and then restarting your device."

I have done this but it slowly returned, I think perhaps it might be the case but I am going to try and use it without it and see.

Does anyone use it without a case? How do you stop your marker going for a walk in your bag? Does anyone use a notebook sleeve for theirs?

Also, if you want the cases book or type folio, if you have patience or even if you start out with a less expensive case you can also set up notifications and follow remarkable 2 folio or other names on EBay, Mercari, OfferUp or Poshmark. I have purchased all my family members remarkable from there and even got great deals on stuff and sold things on these sites. Not everything on EBay is a bid or sometimes when they first post it, you can buy now before someone submits a bid. I’ve seen the book folio’s including the leather ones sell for as low as $35. I get all y type folio’s on there. Some people will see them at a higher price point that’s closer to the actually price but be sure, people are selling whole devices, marker plus and book leather folio’s for less than $300. Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/296079235277?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=eW8gX4VBQYq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=MHUPGHn-Qa6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY. I

I'm using this one, nothing magnetic, it protects all sides and is thin and light. And surprisingly cheap. I love the rather unique design, especially how it shows off the tablet with its transparent back.

Two caveats: the pen holder is absolute garbage, just ignore it even exists. More of a small issue, the hole for the USB port is so thin it only works with the official reMarkable cable. Regular USB plugs are too thick.

I use a pretty cheap case that looks like a composition book. It has a slot that fits a stylus and compartment for tips. I didn't bother with the Marker because I already had a compatible stylus (from an old Samsung) and was getting a Lamy because I like their grip. If you're using the Marker, such a case should work.
