My Club Continues to Do the Right Things
His agent did their job then. Possibly forced the clubs hand to get this done early rather than wait till summer.
Maybe the club were in no rush, and didn't want to risk an early deal only for tomi to miss a lot of the season due to injury

Gabriel, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Timber, Tomiyasu and Benny Blanco all 26 and younger. Shoot that shit into my veins let’s fucking go.
if you exclude zinchenko (which i do, because he plays a completely different role and isn't interchangeable with these players), we have a group of center backs and combo defenders on par with any club in the world. city are able to rotate their defenders and endure injury issues better than anyone because of the versatility and depth they have, and this group is starting to look an awful lot like theirs. plus: the oldest one is only 25. their ceiling as a group is probably still 2-3 years away.
if we can wrap up tomiyasu, we will have an incredible platform back there and i think we can really focus our attention on bringing in an A+ attacking player and a younger midfielder to replace one of jorginho or partey in the summer. the osimhen links make sense when you look at how well manned we are in other parts of the pitch. next summer will be about quality and not quantity.
Need that kinda depth in the engine room.
Love thomas , el neny, fabio and Kai but they have not contributed enough and jorginho is a stop gap

One of my favourite signings of the current team. Out of nowhere, no rumours beforehand, pundits clueless about him, absolutely top class player and perfect fit for the style of play of the team.
He deserves it, one of our most important players. Fingers crossed he can stay injury free.
Is there another player who can perform at his level in any position in the back four?
Maybe Pavard or Stones, both haven’t played much left back though to my knowledge

From the article: "Arsenal are in negotiations with Takehiro Tomiyasu over a new contract.
The Premier League club have made an offer to the Japan international with the two parties expected to reach an agreement in due course.
His currentl deal is set to expire in 2025, although the club do have the option to extend it by a further 12 months.
The 25-year-old joined Arsenal from Serie A side Bologna in 2021 and has gone on to make 71 appearances for the club including 18 so far this season.
He is set to join a number of first-team players in agreeing new deals with the club in recent months following the likes of Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Tomiyasu was withdrawn at half-time of Wednesday’s 6-0 Champions League win over Lens with Mikel Arteta later revealing it was down to his workload as a key part of the squad.
“I think he was excellent,” Arteta said. “He’s played a lot of minutes and we have a really congested period.

With Tomiyasu, White and Timber's positional versatility, once Timber is back we can possibly rotate the defense just like City and still have each player playing 30 matches a season and not drop form at all.
