I've enjoyed Phoronix for a long time but holy shit the ads made this article unusable on my phone.
Five banner ads, two copies of the same video taking up the bottom of the screen, and some sort of 200px border growing and eating the article as I scrolled down. All at the same time.
Wtf?
I have firefox with ublock origin :) But yeah, Phoronix is horrible without an adblocker.
I can't see any on either Chrome or Duck Duck Go (Chromium) mobile. I was genuinely curious, too, as that sounds like a bad experience, but I just can't replicate it at all.
Unfortunately I don't have too much control over the ads :/ With most hardware vendors and companies not specifically focusing on advertising for Linux customers -- especially for Linux desktop / enthusiast type folks, I have to rely on ad networks and things like Google Auto Ads. So I don't have much proactive control besides being able to block obnoxious ads when they are reported to me with like the particular URL of the ad so it can be tracked down.

Uh, yeah you do. adwords has customization. IMO, add a shop, you could sell merch. The website is relatively simple it should not cost that much to run...

That is an unfortunate discrepancy between our experiences.
I'm using mobile Chrome in a private tab without any Adblocking addons, but don't remember being bothered with ads on Phoronix in years. Very limited banner ads, if even.
Hi Michael, For me it would be interesting if there any performance difference between Win 11 Pro and Wokstation or Windows server, to standard Windows 11 Pro. In the past Windows Desktop had sa performance problems in system with more than 64 core.
Nice would be also test system with only 64 threads to really see how big problem are Windows processor groups https://www.anandtech.com/show/15483/amd-threadripper-3990x-review/3.
