I know epic fantasy isn't for everyone, but I found this series so inspirational during dark times in my life where I wanted to give up, when I didn't have the strength to keep going, when I didn't see the point in myself or my journey.
I'd highly recommend reading it, but also wanted to share some quotes from one character that I thought were particularly good and particularly relevant to this subreddit.
“A journey will have pain and failure. It is not only the steps forward that we must accept. It is the stumbles. The trials. The knowledge that we will fail. That we will hurt those around us. But if we stop, if we accept the person we are when we fail, the journey ends. That failure becomes our destination.”
″‘I will take responsibility for what I have done,’ Dalinar whispered. ‘If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man.‘”
“Sometimes a hypocrite is nothing more than a man in the process of changing.”
“The most important word a man can say are, ‘I will do better.‘”
