What an episode. We get more time travel, this time with Lulu. So, we get to see an adult version of Lulu. She is there to see the end of Bravern and Isami as they die defeating the Deathdrives. So, with the help of her team, they transport her back in time in order to change the past.
I am not usually a big fan of time travel elements in stories as they tend to make things overly complicated and make it way too easy to have huge plot holes. However, I don't hate how they have done it here. Plus, the show is already absurd in so many ways, it is easy to overlook a little bit of time travel tomfoolery.
There were some very serious moments this episode in Lulu's storyline, but I just couldn't stop laughing at the gags. The misunderstanding of the Sgt. Major seeing Isami tied up in Smith's room, the ridiculous montage of Superbia doing push ups and Lulu doing pull ups to help their fusion, the incredibly suggestive language around becoming one with one another, and then to top it off, the hilarious magical girl transformation sequence they go through together when they succeed. I had a really hard time picking an image to use for this post, but none of those gags translated well in just a still.
Another thing I wanted to call out here is the part where Lulu and Superbia are arguing in Gagapi language with each other. Japanese subtitles are displayed to help Japanese viewers understand Gagapiese. However, the first line that Superbia says after they switch back to speaking Japanese, they actually display subtitles that translate it to Gagapiese. I just thought that joke was perfect. I actually rewound it a bit to make sure I saw it right since it goes by so quick.
