This community is for long-form video game analysis, especially retrospectives, though videos on any era of gaming are permitted.
Rules
- Content of posts
All top-level posts should be a link to a long-form gaming video essay that isn’t hosted behind a paywall. Videos at least 1-hour in length are preferred.
- Title format
Each post title should include the title of the video, its creator, and its duration in the format [MM:SS] or [HH:MM:SS].
- SWF
No pornographic images or videos.
- post decent content
Noticeably low-quality content and videos that stretch any reasonable definition of “video essay” will be removed. If you’re not trying to break this rule, you probably aren’t.
- No spam
Don’t post the same video multiple times in a short time frame. Don’t flood the community with many videos from a single creator at once.

Hey, thanks for starting this discussion.
I want to check with you if there are formats that doesnt count as 'retrospection' or 'essay'. I would give some examples on creators/channels, please let me know if some of them doesnt count, so I wont bother posting a link to the videos of them later.

Hi. Everything you mentioned that I already knew about seems great to me. Except IGN of course, but I guess if they have long-form stuff.. So I suspect you've got the right idea. As long as it is thoughtful and long-form I don't want to be especially picky. At least for now.
