I don't see why Crunchyroll would not just access Funimations database to see who activated codes for downloaded libraries, email them and let them know they can have free access to those same digital shows on Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll was purchased by Funimation, and the latter was folded into the former, it makes sense that any licenses would automatically transfer across. There is no reason that a company needs to get permission from itself for that.
