Putin has always been allowed to speak his mind. He in fact did so before launching the "special military operation." He has declined every interview with Western journalists for the last two years. He has ALWAYS had the opportunity to speak his mind. The "interview" is nothing short of propaganda aimed to gain both Putin and Tucker Carlson popularity - answering why legacy media is cancelling him. Lastly, I'm not saying he should not be allowed to interview Putin, or that Putin should not be able to express himself freely, so the whole free speech thing is absurd to bring up.
