I went searching for something today and instinctually clicked on a reddit link. Fortunately the sub was dark for the protest anyway, but it's crazy how ingrained in me it is to go to reddit for everything.

Unfortunately now we're going to have to get used to clicking on those clickbait tech articles like "TOP 10 FACEBOOK ALTERNATIVES 2023" to find information, and weed out the crappy blogs.

I've been slowly working my way off actively participating on Reddit for a little over a year now to the point where I only lurk. Though the past past couple weeks I've been finding new media to replace the link-scrolling habit like finding a few podcasts to work through and picking up on some neglected projects. This weekend I've been spending time learning about the fediverse, Lemmy, and just clicking on random communities to see what things are like.
