kokecj5Onlyfans as a business model, is built on "scamming" people. Mainly men, some who just have a lot of income, but it's not like these people, much like gambling, care for the wellbeing of their clients.
Sure, the men, well, everyone should get a grip at realise porn isn't reality. But just like other addictions, some will fall for it. And with how much sex sells. I'm suprised you'd only blame the users here.

kokf5rwThe part where you "chat with the perfomer", a bunch of this, is to keep the client there, fake a connection or a bond. In a lot of cases it's hired people who pretend to be the performer.
That's the scam. And lets not act like the advertisement isn't made out to be you're getting more than just explicit content.
The part where someone do porn, or post nudes or whatever, and get paid for that, sure I'm down for that.

koleygrThat's a fair point. I wasn't aware that chatting with the model/performer was part of the deal. From a business perspective, it makes total sense. From the customers' side, I hope that the majority are suspending their disbelief/buying into the fantasy, but there will always be someone that falls into a toxic parasocial relationship. I think making a comparison to phone sex operators probably isn't too far off. How to fix that I am not sure, but I dont think I'd go so far as calling it a scam

kokhzqnNot always. Their chat funtion on the page, of the performer is sometimes run by multiple other people, who just act like them. Much like if you write to a famous person and get a letter back, that might be someone else.
Or write to your national politician, most likely it's a PR person responding. Difference is, OF is selling that.

kokkf1nI haven't used it that much - interacting with the performers always struck me as fake because there's money involved in it. Same as other salesmen or waitstaff, they have to be nice, so I don't take it for granted.
If they can't see through that... there's this great bridge that I'm selling.

kokh5deThe chance at winnings is so small it's negligible. And most gambling is run by big rich companies, while only fans is a platform for other people to create content for.

kokhg3fSlots machines are somewhere between 0.8 and 0.95 return, so "chance of winning", in the long run is low, but it's not small like you say.
Blackjack, you can even have an advantage.
Now the lottery, yes that's so poor odds.
But not all gambling is so small chance of wining it's negligible.
