Hi,

I will visit your beautiful country in May. After few days in Copenhagen, I want to visit Lego House in Billund before continuing to Germany (Hamburg). Is it better if I took the train to Vejle or Kolding from Copenhagen and then continue with bus to Billund?

Other things to consider is which city is better for quick sightseeing walking trip in the evening after returning from Billund?

I am open to other suggestions as well.

Thank you in advance.

Kolding is really a nice city.

Do you have recommendation on place to visit or see?

Koldinghus (old castle by a lake), geografisk have (botanical garden), Kolding miniby (mini town), Trapholt (modern art and design museum)

Koldinghus is within 5 min walking distance from the trainstation/busstation.

The others are a bit further out. Geografisk have might not be very interesting this time of year in the evening.

Trapholt is definitely worth a visit, if art and design is one's interest. But it requires a few hours or half a day.

Edit: Geografisk have will be nice in May.

Trapholt also closes at 17.00 (21.00 on Wednesdays), so reading the other comments of OP, making it an "after Lego house" thing doesn't really make sense, except maybe Wednesday.

Also Koldinghus closes at 17.00, but you can still walk up to it and see it from the outside.

OP, you really should consider staying longer 😉

My itinerary already pretty much locked so can only choose 1 as transit city.

Yeah go on a pizza crawl and experience why they call it slicetown.

And if you’re really lucky, you’ll get a lasting experience home with you - chlamydia

Vejle is very hilly and I find it way more attractive to visit than Kolding. Especially the surroundings. It kind of feel more like a central European town in some ways. Just my take.
