What is the context for the rest of us?
Joe Exotic was the "star" of the Tiger King documentary on Netflix that caught the public eye during lockdown. It was all anybody talked about for like a year.
Joe badly mismanaged a big cat zoo (tigers mostly) and Carole Baskin runs a tiger sanctuary. He constantly ranted about her trying to shut him down, and he claimed she had killed her previous husband Don Lewis.
Joe is currently in federal prison and running for president again in 2024.
...and he will never financially recover from this
Joe Exotic runs for president the same way Michael Scott declares bankrupsy.
That's exactly correct. I'd give you a high five, but a tiger ate my arm.
In the documentary after you're introduced to the weirdness that is Joe Exotic, Doc, and Carole Baskin, you learn that Carole's millionaire husband, Don Lewis diseapeared out of nowhere and Carole did some shady stuff to get his money instead of his ex wife and kids. To this day nobody know what happened to Don Lewis.
The most funny theory is that Carole feed him to the tigers... they snaking.
I thought I saw an article somewhere saying that he was found alive somewhere and wished her well or something. Maybe I just imagined it
